I’m proud to release my newest plugin for Wordpress titled “Image Rotator Pro”. What does it do? It adds images to your blog that will rotate based on 7 different time options. Features are as follows:

  • Rotates the images based on 7 different time variables
  • You can upload and delete directly from the admin options page
  • You can link the images to any URL you specify
  • No limit to the number of pictures
  • You can style the CSS directly from the admin options pages
  • A total of 5 sections, which can be turned on and off, give you the flexibility to add multiple rotating sections. Each section will rotate according to it’s own schedule
  • File types supported: .gif, .jpg, .png, .tiff, .tif, .jpeg, .raw, .bmp, .ppm, .pgm, .pbm, .pnm, .cgm, .svg, .psd, .psp, .ai, .drw, .dxf, .eps, .indd, .mng, .pct, .pdf, .ps, .svg, .flv

Again, I am offering 2 versions for download. The first is a free, open-source version licensed under the GPL. The second will be the Pro version and can be downloaded for cost.

Installation
Below I will list a few simple steps to activate and use the plugin. But for this plugin, I am also going to try out a new feature of video instructions which I hope will help people install, use, and debug the plugin. Please refer to these as I feel they will convey the information better. 

  1. Unzip into /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
  2. Create a directory in your /wp-content/ folder named “rotating-images”.
  3. Create a subdirectory in that folder (name it anything you want).
  4. Activate the plugin from the admin panel.
  5. Go to ‘Options’ in the admin panel, and then ‘Image Rotator Basic’ to configure.
  6. Once you have cleared any errors and the plugin is activated properly, simply add the section divs to your theme files (or wherever you want the images to appear)
  7. Style the CSS from the admin options panel, set the swap rate, and enjoy!
